The exciting young field of handheld Augmented Reality introduces many new research challenges. Existing content retrieval methods are difficult to scale in the presence of large numbers of users. Accurate and robust 3D registration methods are also in need. Our research spans from 3D registration to Augmented Reality content management and distribution.

Document and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) methods, have been researched mainly in the context of latin languages. Arabic handwriting brings new and different challenges. Millions of historical documents poorly preserved are written in different styles, posing great research questions. Our research focuses on Arabic Document Analysis.

Rendering large datasets that consist of millions of polygons has been an active field of research for more than two decades. Representing 3D models optimized for Level Of Detail rendering is a challenge task. Our research aims to develop algorithms in Computer Graphics, Digital Image Processing and Computational Geometry for 3D models interactive rendering.
